Hi Maria;
Please find attached the diplomatic note we forwarded to Vatican protocol and the gendarmes with vehicle access requests for the meeting and tours. I had one suggested change for the movement for tomorrow's tours: The easiest way to reach the Scavi from the Belvedere courtyard (the Vatican library entrance) is from inside the Vatican, circling around St. Peter's Basilica to the Scavi office, located on the south side of the Basilica. So after the 4pm Vatican library tour concludes I would suggest that route to reach the Scavi for the 5pm tour, rather than meeting at the hotel first, although of course you can stick with the original plan if you prefer.
Best,
Emmett

Thanks Maria! That's very helpful. One question though - 1understood that on Thursday afternoon you had arranged a 4pm tour of the Vatican library as well, no?

The Gendarmes have just informed me that your office should contact directly the Gendarmes' Command to inform them of the date, time, and purpose (e.g. Mass at St. Peter's) that SP plans to enter the Vatican City State. The direct email address is info@gendarmeria.va
Also, please do send over the car info/license plate info so he can arrange the drop off location for the other two tours.... Thanks!
