ETHYL CORPORATION RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT r e s ea r c h l a bo r a t o r ies 1600 WEST EIGHT MILE ROAD FERNDALE 20, DETROIT, MICHIGAN January 25, 1962 Dr. R. A. Kehoe Kettering Laboratory College of Medicine Eden & Bethesda Avenues C inc innati 19 > Ohio Dear Dr. Kehoe: Since our meeting with you on January 10 regarding our position in connection with specification restrictions on the use of 4.23 gms lead per gallon of gasoline, I have discussed the timing for a con ference in Washington with Adm. Biggs' office. I received several good suggestions regarding information we should present at such a meeting. In addition to a summary of the application work on over 3. 17 gms which we have completed, it was suggested we discuss the TML field program on which you gave them a progress report last February. You indicated in our meeting that the report on the TML field program should be completed by the middle or latter part of February and that we could then arrange for the discussion in Washington. This completion time will work out nicely as our laboratory and field application work will be in report form by the latter part of February. In my discussion with Adm. Biggs' office we have tentatively set the week of March 5 as a time for our conference. They would like as much as two weeks advance notice in order to get the proper representation from such groups as the Army, Navy, Air Force, MPSA, NATO, and others. The group would actually be about the same as we had before. I appreciate that you have a continuously heavy schedule; therefore I would like your comments. Dr. Kehoe, on the timing of our meeting and the most convenient date for you. I have discussed this schedule with Mr. Sabina, who will join us as he did at the last meeting. I speak for both Dick Scales and myself when I say we enjoyed your hospitality and are looking forward to your coming to Detroit in the not too distant future. N9596 Dr. R. A. Kehoe -2- January 25, 1962 I will appreciate hearing from you at your convenience. Sincerely, Dan M. Guy DMG:ba cc: Dr, Frank Princi Mr. R. K. Scales
