FROM: James Rowe, Building Manager 1114- Avenue of The Americas RE: Removing tile and Working in Ceilings at 1114 Avenue of The Americas Dear Mike: Due to the fact that fire-proofing on*the steel and Q decking in this building has a per-centage of asbestos in it, at anytime when anybody has to remove a ceiling tile to work in the ceiling, pre cautions must be taken. On top of the ceiling tiles some of the fire-proofing from the ^teel could be dis-lodged and fallen on it. Because of this possibility every time the ceiling is open, it should be done under controlled conditions, this means: 1) Nobody to be in the area. 2) Work done after business hours when fans are shut down. 3) Area being worked on enclose with plastic. 4) Environmentalist on the scene.
