As you will recall, RG-244 Is a highly purified and liberated asbestos fiber on which a silica coating is chemically formed. I will be most anxious to learn the results of your tests with this material. Further to our discussions regarding the spraying of asbestos in California, we are in the process of developing a testing program along the lines which we dis cussed and when our plans are complete, I will outline them to you. A one-pint jar of "Calidria" asbestos pellets, grade RG-100, has been shipped to your attention. A data sheet listing the typical physical characteristics of grade RG-144 is enclosed. RG-144 is produced by dry grinding RG-100 in an impact mill so the basic asbestos fiber properties should be the same. The grinding can be approximated in the laboratory by shearing the pellets for 15-30 seconds at high speed in a Waring Blender. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
