This may be the sequel to th brake lining (and clutch facing) asbestos emissions tests run by the Bendix Corporation for EPA where 85$ of the asbestos emissions were dropped out or deposited on the ground. Study Calls Autos Chief Polluters of Water WASHINGTON, July 3 (UPI)-- A study carried out for the En vironmental Protection Agency concludes that cars are pri mary polluters of water. Biospherics, Inc., of Rockville, Md,, an independent research concern, said in a report issued yesterday by the E.P.A. that pollutants spread on roads by autos befoul rivers and streams almost as much as municipal sewage. The pollutants include asbes tos from brake linings, rubber from tires, zinc from oil and tires, lead from gasoline and nitrogen and phosphorus com pounds.
