Interoffice Communication To Jim Barton From Alton Reeves Date September 18, 1978 Subject VAPOR RELEASE On the 10th of September at 0710 a.m., Panel operator Steve Kilgore was venting the inert from 742 reactor over into the recovery unit. The gasket blew out on the bullseye on the recovery line. Walter West noticed the MSA unit had went off and also saw the vapor flowing from the bullseye and recovery area. Walter then notified Steve Kilgore of the blow out on his radio. Steve then sounded the vapor alarm, told the location of the release. I then went to the area with a Scott Air pack and isolated the bullseye. I then waited a few minutes and then clsoed offf the deluge, water. I then checked the area for high vent vapor using the HNU.
