He was born 19th October, 1921, in Poland. He left sehool In 1935 emd until he ease to Australia In 1950 he was a fern worker. In that year he commenced work with Australian Blue Aabeetoe at* ITlttenooa, building a new powerhouse about half a mile from the dll. At this tine he was not aware of each dost. In the years 1953-55 he worked for 2j years in the dll, which, he said, was very dusty. By the tine he left the dll in September, 1955, he had become h leading hand, watching machinery etc. After leering Wittenoom he became a yardman in a hotel. He felt well until February* 1961, when he noticed that he became easily tired and short of breath. This dyspnoea has been associated with chopping wood* walking upstairs and walking fast along the flat. He does not consider that It has become worse since the onset* There has been so wheeze. Since^ the onset he has been aware of a cough, associated with yellow sputum which disappeared after about two or three months. It was most noticeable In the early morning when he would cough up approximately half a teespoonful of sputum; the sputum has never been blood-stained. He has lost li stone in weight since the onset. He smokes four or five cigarettes during the day and drinks one or two flasses of beer a day. tEhere is no history of any previous llnese.
