Dear Dr. Yitsniller;
Confirming our telephone conversation yesterday afternoon, Sr. Lichtenstein, Vice President of the above company.telephoned us to call to our attention, a Lr.^JJ(J^wha is employed by Continental as a tank truck driver. He also handles other duties around the plant but has nothing to do whatever with the mixing installation nor does he have access to it. Some months aero, I-.Ir. tfJHJdeveloped what appeared to be a rheumatic condi tion. Fe visited a sanrtarium in western Hen York whene he was treated for a period of time. T.'e do not have the name of this sanitarium nor the name of the physician handling the case at that time. However, according to Mr. Lichenstein, this physician indicated that ;,Ir.:^U^had so;;e of the symptons of le?d poisoning. Ur.'^ k-snbsecnently returned to Oil City but just recently has taken a turn, for xTM worse and at. the present time, according to hr. Lichtenstein, he is in a critical condition at the Franklin Hospital, Franklin, Pa. Dr, YcCandless at the Franklin Hospital is handling the case and indicated to Mr. Lichtenstein that while he did not believe hr. welch had lead poisoning, he would be very glad to cooperate with us in discussing the matter with-our Medical Department. Mr. Lichtenstein did not believe
lead poisoning. However, he wanted to give, us complete informa tion with the thought that if re so desired, vre- could communicate with Dr. kcCandless at which time additional details could be obtained.
In view of the circumstances, we thought it best to telephone you and you indicated that you agreed with us in following, up this case by your telephoning Dr. McGundless. While nothing may ever come of the situation, nevertheless, should Mr^ Hkpass away, there is always the possibility that complications may devexojyat a later time.
v'e 'mould appreciate it very much if you would rive us any information you -th-ink would be in order as dr. Lichtenstein would no doubt fee interested having a report from us.
Very truly yours,
