"X" car consigned items to us will be figured out and a shipping schedule presents it after the first of the year. We would not anticipate receipt of these parts until probably February 1st or after. Reference G. E. McFadden's letter dated 11/24 to Delco-Moraine, covering electro-chemical stampings required on the shoes which they have provided us for the GMOO drum brake assembly requirements. We have been requested to revise prices as of 11/24 to reflect the cost changes necessary to perform this operation on all assemblies for GMOO. This will have to be a standard operation in view of the fact that the words"made in USA" which presently shows up on.the shoe web, cannot be removed. This electro-chemical stamping consists of the words"assembled in Canada" which allows these assemblies to get back into the United States through Canadian customs. The kit numbers covered will be 18004634A and 18005760A. Reference the writer's letter dated 11/29, covering the request to remove the Delco-Moraine part number stamped on the edge of the lining per print. Delco has written GM overseas operations to see whether this is acceptable to them on a permanent change basis. It should be remembered that all parts that we have been shipping for this program have been accepted under deviation because we do not,at present,put this part number on the edge of the lining. We have requested they eliminate it from kit 18004631A, 4633A, and 5764A. We should be hearing back from them within the next 30-45 days. Obtained from the friction material development people, one wheel set for dynamometer evaluation of Delco-Moraine resin bonded metallic drum brake formulation 9015 as presently released on the Chevrolet A car drum brakes for heavy duty applications and the 1979 Jeep, from American Motors for export vehicles. They continued to be very stingy with samples of this material--the writer has put in another request for a minimum of one more brake set. These parts will be turned over to R. E.
