Mr. G. M. Wilkening, Head Industrial Hygiene and Safety Administration Department Bell Telephone Laboratories Murray Hill, New Jersey 07971
Dear Mr. Wilkening
You wrote to me in August of 1965 about an incorrect statement in the reference section of an article by Brodie, Cosmides and Paill, in SCIENCE!. As I indicated in my response, I wrote to Dr. Brodie, and in due course (September after I had left Cincinnati for Santiago, Chile) I had an answer, copy of which I enclose.
You will note that the apology is made to me, which is a bit beside the point, but the correction of the error has not been made. I dare say that few persons who read the article examined the references carefully, and perhaps there is no need to underscore the issue by calling further attention to it. I am acknowledging the receipt of the letter, however, (now that I have returned home and can get my correspondence up to date) and raising the Question of a note of correction from the author. He is certainly in a position to appreciate the consequence that might result from such a statement.
Thanks again, for bringing this to my attention.
Cordially yours.
