It is important to me to hear from citizens across the country who are interested in protecting the environment. Our nation has a stellar history of protecting our natural resources and our environment while also respecting economic growth and jobs, and we will continue to do that. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will always strive to strike a balance between protecting our water, air and natural resources and building our economy. As part of my Back-toBasics agenda, the agency can and will achieve clean air and clean water, while at the same time promote strong economic growth and job creation. We will accomplish this by protecting the environment. approving sensible regulations that allow economic growth and engaging with state and local partners. This agenda is designed to transform the way we do business and. more efficiently and effectively, delivers human health and environmental results. It is an honor and privilege to lead the thousands of dedicated public servants here at the FPA who have devoted their careers to helping realize this shared vision, while faithfully administering environmental laws. Promoting and protecting a strong and healthy environment is one of government's lifeblood priorities, and the I PA is vital to that mission.
