Allied is building a PVC plant in Painesville, Ohio and is scheduled for start-up in the near future. We have made contact with some producers regarding the safety and fire protection aspects of a PVC plant and I am pleased to report that they have been most cooperative. During these conversations I was impressed by the fact that there was a great deal of interest in the possibility of establishing an informal organization that would meet for discussion of safety problems unique to PVC operations. An exchange of information in this important phase of our work would, I feel, prove valuable and would produce results of tangible benefit to each participating organization. We have suitable meeting facilities at our Morristown, New Jersey, site. I would like to offer the use of these facil ities for a meeting devoted to the discussion of common safety problems in PVC operations. A suggested date for such a meeting would be some time during the week of May 9, 1966. We certainly would appreciate getting your reaction and any views you may have relative to this suggestion.
