The meeting was called to order by Mr. J. V. Gardiner, Kite presided, and Mr. A. M. Wilson reported the minutes of the meeting.
On a motion the reading of the minutes of May 21, was dispensed with*
Mention was made ef Colonel Merritt being in the office last Friday, but without knowledge as to how much longer he would be in the Serrice.
It was decided not to provide for an exhibit to be included in the exhibition of Philadelphia industries as sponsored by the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade; to be held in the Gimbel Brothers* store the latter part of August and September.
Mr. Gardiner reported on the meeting held in our Brooklyn Laboratory last Friday, which was attended by Messrs. Wilson, Morris and Gardiner from this branch, for the purpose of acquainting our people with the laboratory's new products development work. Mri Gardiner also reported on having agreed with Mr. Martino, last Friday, to standardise on the distribution of only 19^ of the Account 17, to the Metal Department - retroactive to January 1, 1945*
The question of contributing to the establishment ef an independent, technical research bureau in Philadelphia, at present known as The Temple Research Institute, was discussed and it was decided to lend such support as might be necessary to Mr. Stewart to obtain the necessary authorisation for a modest share in the venture.
The balance of the meeting was devoted to a discussion of the factors which we believe are favorable to us in connection with the proposed eastern paint plant.
There being no further business, upon motion the meeting adjourned.
