PEAVY C&P - NEWARK QUALITY ASSURANCE PRODUCT SPECIFICATION Ed Cairns and George Patrick will propose to F&FP that our current specifications on AL, AA, AB, and AE.,be modified to prevent spurious complaints. We will propose that AL, AA, and AB limits be considered typical shipping ranges (i.e., not specifications) and that total color difference (AE) be our specifjcation. This approach, we believe, is consistent with both ours and F&FP's quality goals and will help eliminate unnecessary product rejections seen with the currently over constrained specs. AE also has the best correlation with our existing visual shipping limits. We should try to arrange a follow up discussion at Newark for a few F&FP personnel. This will be mentioned at our meeting at Marshall Lab. As discussed Friday, as we move toward product specifications, we will have a better method of presenting quality performance. Your thoughts on quality reporting methods at our meeting are appreciated.
