I SECTION VI - A-6.1 APPLICATION FINISHES - OUTDOOR "HTPALON" JACKET Pipe and Fittings The application of a "Hypalon"jacket finish on an outdoor piping system having an operating temperature from 350F to 650*F shall be the same as that for an outdoor system operating from +75F to 350F (section VI - A-5) except for the following revisions. REVISION I - METAL PROTRUSIONS A VALVE BONNETS, PIPE SUPPORTS, PROBES, T.C.s & INJECTION NOZZLES A 1 Polybestos cloth shall be applied on the basic insulation, around these protrusions, prior to the application of the Hypalon" jacket. or mastic and mesh finish. 1.1 The "A" cloth shall be cemented on with fibrous adhesive and it shall be fitted snug around or lapped up on the protrusion, about l/2n. 1.2 The type of protrusion will determine how far the "A" cloth shall extend out from the metal. Figures 1-2-3 -4-5 & 6 are typical of the methods used to apply the "A" cloth around the various protrusions. mA 2 When the protrusion extends out through a mastic and mesh surface the mesh shall lap over the "A" cloth, around the protrusion, about 1". See figures 1C and 2C. 2.1 The "A" cloth shall be given a coat of mastic at the same time the mastic and mesh are applied. 2.2 The mastic shall be applied by hand and worked into weave of the "A" cloth.
