Region Supervisor Texas Air Control Board 5602 Old Brownsville Road Corpus Christi, Texas Re: Asbestos Removal During Renovation Celanese Corporation Technical Center at 1901 Clarkwood Road, Corpus Christi plans to remove approximately 157 square feet of asbestos containing insulation from a cylindrical vessel, V-1032, which is five feet wide by ten feet high. The vessel was built in 1962 and obtained by this facility in 1974. V-1032 has been utilized as organic chemical storage. Celanese is scheduled to do the renovation on October 14, 1985. This renovation involves removal of the existing insulation and replacement with a non-asbestos substitute. The precedures defined in 40 CFR Part 61 will be followed.
