Benner Tide 7/ater Oil Company 17 Battery Place New York, New York Dear Mr. Benner: In reply to your requesi^or.Information on the present status of Mr., we wish to advise you that the most recent analytical findings and olinical information that we have on Mr. I^HBBAhdicates that he has not yet completely recovered from"the effects of his lead poisoning. It is not usual for cases of this type to have per sistent symptoms for as long a period of time as Mr. Witter has. On the other hand thecomp^jte analytical data which we have indicates that Mr.^^IBHBfcsxposure was unusually great and moreover, the last sample obtained is sufficiently above normal limits. We therefore feel that Mr. Witter*3 recovery may not be expected to be complete in view of these analytical findings and .moreover continued medical treatment will be necessary until all symptoms have dis appeared or until we have satisfied ourselves that the abnormal amounts of lead have been eliminated. In most instances of poisoning of this type the patient is well on the road to recovery in three weeks and complete recovery is usual in from six to eight weeks. It does however occasionally happen that symptoms persist for longer periods of time and Mr. ^^B^^apparently falls into this group. These cases do not become chronic and it is to be expected that though recovery i3 delayed, it will be com plete and will take place in a regular fashion. Y/e would recommend that Mr. continue his present regimen and treatment and after a proper interval has elapsed, we wrill secure other samples from him and if possible arrange to examine him, at which time v/e will advise you of his status.
