D.H. / Ilorton I-Jourihan Weintraub bcc: Analyti.cal Lab As stated in the referenced memo, the bottle polymerlzer eval uation of the subject initiator was run and has been completed. In addition to the Cadet lauroyl peroxide (L202), bottles were set up with U.S. Peroxygcn L202 and Electrocnemlsche Werke Mu~ chen L202. The data shown in Table I (attached) indicates uhat the Cadet L20H gives a good conversion, while the U.S. Peroxygcn initiator shows a low conversion rate, which :i s explained by the lower assay of this material. The sample USP1 had a small amount of foam resin contained in an otherwise normal looking resin. Infra Red examination showed the foam to be a Copolymer and not as suspected as a polyvinyl acetate. Bound acetate analysis re sults show a slight increa.se in bound acetate levels for the polymers 'with lower yield values. Purchasing has placed an order for 2,000 pounds of the Cadet L202. Process Engineering is requested to run an evaluation of this raw material. Attachment. FWK/jt F.W.
