Hourihan FORMULATION: POUNDS 980 Maximum of 20 + 2 RAW MATERIAL 1730 Lauryl Alcohol* PROCESS DESCRIPTION: Base resin (in this case 1730) is continuously fed from the fine product bin via vibra-screw feeder to a gravimetric belt master con troller. As the base resin travels across the belt, the weight rate is translated into an air signal which regulates the addition of al cohol by controlling the % opening of an air-operated valve in the alcohol supply line. The base resin and alcohol streams meet in a turbulizer where they are continuously blended. The alcohol is intro duced through a spray nozzle in the turbulizer. The blend passes through a scalp screener to the bagger surge hopper, and is then packag d and palletized. As bagging progresses, the operator maintains a log sheet on which is recorded a running material balance for each pallet/ Since the alcohol tank is scale mounted, the operator has a reading on the amount added per pallet of finished product and this tells him whether or not his process is in control. This 1716, assigned the above series and formulation numbers, is EDA approved and will be routinely produced and shipped. Non-EDA 1716 will not be produced or shipped unless it is specifically scheduled by Production Control as determined by Customsr Instruc tion Sheets.
