n U% Memorandum November 2 3 , 1937 Notations of discussion with Dr. T. Watson, Baton House, Louisiana. (1) Arrangements were made for shift of certain members of the original test group to obtain representative sample of conditions in all operations. Of the 19 men, 5 are to be placed on still floor, 3 iu blender and others scattered with the exception that none will probably be used on the ty-th floor where the work does not call for trained men. However, as check on this operation, and to continue observations and study, 6 supervisors were added to the group including Xing, Yiengst, Royal, Houdart, and Goode. All 3 blender employees were included as well. The improvements introduced into the construction of the blender and wash house at Baton Rouge have been considerable and it is believed that close study of the above group is warranted in the light of possible future develop ments. 9% separate employment record will be kept for all of the above group and notations of type of work and dates of change are to accompany the record sheets for acatip3.es, the latter to be on a form similar to that now in use at Deepwater. (2) Air analyses will be taken and reported soon. These will be con tinuous in certain operations in association with subjects in the test group and will be supplemented by spot samples taken from time to time. I;r. Fisher was not at the plant but both Dr. Watson and Mr. Bailey are favorable to this innovation. (3) All matters of routine quarterly samples, spot samples of blood and urine were discussed. The question of a unit type of examination record was taken up. Watson strongly, favors seme, but will await word from Dr. Gehrman with whom we will discuss one natter on our next visit in January. (5) A discussion was had 'with Dr. Joseph A. O'Hara, New Court Building, New Orleans, Louisiana and Mr. O'Neal, who are state health official and sanitary engineer respectively. In reference to their request for copies of the analytical reports which we submit to Dr. fatson, it was not decided whether they would request full copy of our report or be satisfied with an interpretation which we would furnish Dr. Watson at the time we made our report to him.
