Massachusetts Lead Low -- FINAL regulations published The Massachusetts Department of Public Health ha* issued final regulations far the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program under that state's load law. The proposed regulation*, which wara attached ta "L6L" Bulletin No. 9, were amended after the Public Hearing an March 16, 1973, at which time NPCA and ether industry briefs ware hied. Because of significant change* (with respect to exemptions and labeling), a copy of the complete amended regulation is attached hereto. Principal changes are: a. Permanent exemptions, rather than temporary (until January I, 1974), for all addressed product categories except roof coatings and exterior wood primers, and b. A six-month extension (from April 1, 1973) of effective data far the labeling requirements.
