He waa bore 19th October, 1921, in Mend* He
left school in 1935* sod until he came to Australia in 1950 he ess e fare sorter. In that year he commenced
work with Australian Blue Asheetoe at1 frittenooa,bollding
a new powerhouse about half a mile from the mill. At 4 this time he was not aware of much duet. In the years
1953*55 he worked for 2i years in the mill* whlcfix* he aaid, was very dusty. B? the time he left the sill in September, 1955, he had become k leading hand, watching
machinery etc. After leering tftttenooa he became a yardman In a hotel.
He felt well until February, 1961# whan he noticed that he became easily tired and abort of breath.
This dyspnoea has been associated with chopping wood,
walking upstairs and walking fast along the flat* Be % does not consider that it has become worse since the
onset. Share haa been too wheese* Slnoo the onset he
has been aware of a cough, associated with yellow sputum which disappeared after about two or three months. It
was most noticeable in the early morning when he would cough up approximately half a teespooaftxi of spates;
the sputum has newer been bloodwat&lned* He has lost
li stone in weight alnee the onset. He smokes four or five cigarettes during the day and drinks one or two
glasses of beer a day. Thera Is no history of any previous
Illness* Hia wife is well and he has five children, 3 to 13 years, all well. Hie mother and father are both well.
