M In his WEEKLY LETTER TO THE MAYOR dated November 5, 1971, the Commissioner of Health wrote: Dear Mayor: Dr, Linas Appointed I am pleased to announce that Dr, Sidney Linas, Baltimore obstetrician, has been named Clinical Director of Maternity Services at the Baltimore Maternity Center, 211 W, Lombard Street. A native Baltimorean, Dr. Linas has been in private practice for over thirty years, chiefly in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. He has been a parttime clinic physician at the Maternity Center for the past three years. In his new post Dr, Linas.will supervise the operation of the Department's maternity hygiene clinics and medical personnel of the family planning clinics, A graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Linas has also studied at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. During World War II he served in the surgical department of the Army Medical Corps. The Baltimore Maternity Center provides comprehensive maternity and family planning services for those who cannot afford private medical care. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to hs30 P.M. Expectant mothers, or those who think they are pregnant, who wish to utilise its services may call 752-0380 or 752-0381 and ask for an appointment. Those interested in family planning services may call 752-7282. Cherry Hill Multipurpose Center May I also express gratitude to you and Mayor-elect William Donald Schaefer, the City Council, the Cherry Hill Coordinating Council and residents of South Baltimore for the strong support that has made the Cherry Hill Multipurpose Center possible. The Center, for which the ground-breaking ceremonies were held last Friday, October 29, will be located near Giles Road and Veronica Avenue.
