Interviewed:
Roy Verdery J . P. McCoy 0. York
Roy and Joe first discussed their great interest in the RG>244 and are greatly surprised that it's use isn't larger than the approx. 900# per month they are using now.
1971
Roy was told of the various normal safety respiratory devices to be used in hant ling the Calidria safely.
Dennis York, the Plant Safety Engineer, needs information to satisfy the APCD. 'his should be similar to that published by Cabot. Union Carbide will soon be
publishing information that he could submit the Los Angeles APCD.
He was also told that Asbestosis and Silicosis were equally dangerous if proper safety precautions were not taken. Thfe allowable dust levels per cu. ft. were discussed and how to assure safe handling in this respect by proper respiratory equipment and air ventilation.

Interviewed: J. Sulke H. Nakano
Jack and Hank said they might be detecting a color darkening in some products using RG-244, which seems unaccountable to all of us. Jack also said that he has to use more RG-244 than he should to get his vis and thix index.
Their lab is awaiting a Cowles mixer so a 2 drum batch can be made. We-alsc
discussed their U3e of 1/4 Cabosil or a touch of TiO^ to get the necessary appearance in the resin that their customers are accustomed to see. Hank
11 try bosh of these methods in other than new products.
We told Hank and Jack of the growing interest and sales totals of RG-244 and th were quite interested, knowing the savings involved.

Recently a folio;? up cell was ranie 00 Mr. Ecrreotine regarding RC 244. He E-visad rose the Oxnard plant vas still not operating as they bad expected It would because of larger parts for dispersing equipment that have still not been received from General Electric.
Vhen these parts are received and they are in production, RG 244 vill be given a trial run at this plant. Hr. Barrentine stated that bis tests have shown the pre-vet has been better using RG 244 when coopered with the Pyrogenics.
As they should definitely be using our material, it vould now be advisable for soaeonc froa our San Marino office to call on Mr. Cordon Johnson at DianonJ-Shsnrock's Oxnard plant.

Interviewed: Harry Wilson
Harry can't use short fibres in his adhesive tape. The SG-144 is one he can possibly use and will evaluate. He will phone his results to me and also requests freight rates from King City.

Interviewed: Curt Cooper J . Frank
Curt, the plant engineer, needs all the info he can get regarding the various respiratory aids, ventilation and dust arrestors which are necessary when using Asbestos or Silicas. Their production area has no adequate ventilation or draft. Bob Byrne will send to him compiled data on all these facte. Curt has a complete engineering job to do for this plant.
We discussed Asbestocis o& and Silicosis and bow they were not related to Cancer in proper usage and that RG-244 was Chrysotilc and not Chrysolite Asbestos,
John Frank discussed viscosities and asked how stable our RG-244 would keep the product and fcaaaz he was aosured that it would bo much better than Cabosil< Other advantages over Silicas and its superior wetting and less duct pollution
were also pointed out to them.
PPG seeds the go-ahead from their Springdale Lab to go ahead with producing Calidria Polyesters in this plant.

Interviewed: L. Bedeghian 0. Zaske
Leon and Oecar discussed the various viscosities as reported by U.C. in the letter of Sept. 2. It was learned that these were results were low because no additive (Glycol) was added to the sample while it is in Silmar's comparable Cobosil resin.
Oscar wants a less settling out thixotrope and Is conducting tests now using jgi various additives in his Cabosil resin6. He believes his results are quite favorable to date.
Y/e told themfhat sales proved the success of others in Calidria Polyester resins and they should also be able to achieve this.
Oscar asked U.C. for a gallon of Sonolated resin with RG-244 in it so Leon can put it in a stand tube and check it for settling over a period of time. Bob Byrne will have this done and send the sample to Oscar after he returns to the East.
Both were also told of the various working advantages as to less dusting easier mixing better suspension, etc, when using Calidria intead of Asbestos
