Mr. Bob Walker presided at the meeting, and items of current interest were presented by: L. A. Bradshaw Ponca City CSP Plant Backlog The order backlog at Ponca City was 509 units as of October 17, 1980 versus a backlog of 522 units a week earlier. C. B. Cleaver Derailment on ICG Three loaded VCM tank cars leased from Union Tank Car Company were derailed on the Monroe Lead in Aberdeen, Mississippi last week. There were no injuries or loss of product. The cars have been rerailed and moved into the plant to be unloaded. After unloading, they will be sent to Ponca City to be degassed and then forwarded to a shop for repair. Tracks have been repaired, and there was no interruption of rail service to the plant. REACT Glenn Lee and Bob Cleaver are meeting with the Computer Department and the Rand people October 20, 1980 to discuss Rand marketing REACT as a part of their regular sales program. L. G. Hubbard Hazardous Waste Meeting Larry Hubbard was in Lake Charles October 16-17 to work with per sonnel from the alcohol and VCM plants on Hazardous Waste Transportation. Another meeting is scheduled for November 3 when sample analyses for their wastes will be available. D. S. Smith Rail Deregulation Bill Becomes Law President Carter signed the so-called "Rail Deregulation Bill" into law October 1A. Watson VCM Rates We have concluded negotiations with rail carriers and have established a reasonable rate for the movement of vinyl chloride between our plants at Aberdeen, Mississippi and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This permits flexibility to adjust our VCM inventories at these plants. Southern Pacific Rail Deregulation Seminar Ron Shank and Ned Wright attended a seminar on Railroad Deregulation conducted by the Southern Pacific Line in Houston on October 17- This is the first of probably many.
