By using these color* in connection with Flat*Tone Glaring Liquid over a suitable groundwork, such a* S-W Flat-Tone or ODp White Lead, the exper ienced decorator or painter cars obtain an Infinite variety of shades, with tones of great depth and beauty of color, and of a character impossible with any other finish. Owing to the variety of effects obtained, it is always possible to finish walls and ceil ings in perfect harmony with the rest of the color-scheme, not only in an endless variety of colors, but also in effecti, ranging from the simple transparent glaze to a two or three-color mottled and blended effect. Fiat-Tone Glaze Colors arc ground in oil to impalpable fineness, and by the addition of Flat-Tone Glazing Liquid can be reduced to the most delicate tones, yet always retaining their brilliancy, no matter what the reduction. They are extremely transparent, lack any tendency to clouding and blend admirably with suitable groundwork, giving a depth of color usually found only in rich fabrics. They arc adapted for use in the most elaborate stencil decorations on walls and ceiling*--both for application of the stencil itself and for "tinting in** the design. - SYSTEM GROUND COLOR GLAZE COLOR No. 1 No. 3 No. 4 No. 11 No. 12 No 13 No. 14 No. 16 No. IS No. 20 No. 23 No. 24 No. 25 No. 26 No. 27 No. 29 No. 30 No. 31 No. 32 No. 33 No. 35 No. 36 No. 37 No. 38 No. 39 No. 40 No. 41 No. 42 No. 43 No. 44 No. 45 No. 46 No. 47 No. 48 No. 49 Flat-Tone Ivory Orange Lake Flat-Tone Ivory Japanese Brown Flat-Tone Old Gold Brown Sienna Flat-Tone Lichen Gray Moss Green Flat-Tone Ivory Golden Brown, and Otive Lake Flat-Tone Lichen Gray Sepia Brown Flat-Tone Cream Myrtle Flat-Tone Lichen Gray Deep Olive Flat-Tone Cream Deep Cerulean Flat-Tone Old Gold Persian Brown Flat-Tone Gold Size and Aluminum Bronze Peacock Green . While there are at present beautiful mottled effect* which can be produced with S-W Glazing Materials. the demand has been for a stippled wall effect, which ' should require no special tinting colors* and which should be simple to produce. The Flat-Tone Multi-Color process requires no special colors, only the regular colors of Flat-Tone shown in our color card, CC 10. A sponge is used to apply the. stipple colors over the foundation color effect. This is done by rubbing the sponge into a small quantity of Flat-Tone which has been poured out on a board, being care ful that the sponge does not take up too much paint so as to blur when applied to the wall. The sponge acts just like a rubber stamp, and makes a print of its own texture upon the wall. The more interesting the texture of the sponge, the more interesting will be the print, upon the wall. Choose a sponge, therefore, with this In mind, selecting one of good size. Slice the bottom off with a large knife before wetting* and wash the sponge out in clean warm water. It U then ready to use. .For full directions, see Form S-167&.
