Armstrong Employee Edward Novak
Dear Marti
Enclosed is a copy of correspondence which was originally addressed to the sales office here in Los Angeles. As you see, the letter pertains to a workmen's com pensation claim filed by Mr. Edward Novak. Both Armstrong Contracting and Supply and Armstrong Cork Company are listed as former employers on the legal papers.
The sales office records indicate that he did not work there. We do not have
any record of his working in the plant. Mr. M. C. Sweet, AC&S, indicated that
Mr. Novak was employed b y AC&S at the time stated in the letter. Mr. Sauer at
the sales office forwarded the letter to me.
-
Mr. McDonald, Reliance Insurance Companies, has told us that his firm provided * workmen's compensation insurance coverage for the sales office at the time in , question.
Mr. McDonald would like to receive a written statement from someone there in Lancaster stating that Mr.' Novak did (or did not) work for the Armstrong Cork Company. Dates and location of employment should be stated in the letter, if applicable. With a statement from you, the legal department or from some other appropriate person, Mr. McDonald's firm can take whatever action is appropriate.
He has asked that the correspondence be sent directly to him. should also go to M. C. Sweet, C. B. Sauer, and to me.
