National Alliance of Forest Owners
The Honorable Scott Pruitt Administrator Environmental Protection Agency William Jefferson Clinton Federal Building 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20460
Dear Administrator Pruitt:
On behalf of the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO) Board of Directors, I write to request an opportunity for CEOs serving on the NAFO Board to meet with you during our annual spring meeting in Washington, DC, on April 4-6, 2017.
NAFO's Board of Directors is comprised of CEOs from the leading private forestry companies and forestry associations in the country. Our mission is to promote federal policies that will protect and enhance the economic, environmental, and recreational values of privately owned forests across the nation. NAFO is now in its tenth year as a national organization and has quickly grown to represent nearly 80 million acres of private forests in 47 states.
The purpose of our spring meeting is to gather as leaders to discuss priority federal issues affecting private forest owners and how to effectively partner with policy makers in Washington to achieve solutions. We have a particular interest in discussing how we can work together on water and air policies that will support jobs in the forestry sector and the rural economy overall.
A draft schedule of events is attached. Our CEOs would welcome the opportunity to meet with you at the EPA during our advocacy day on Wednesday, April 5 between 9 am and 11:30 am or between 1:30 and 5 pm. Alternatively, we would welcome you to speak to our full Board of Directors at the Fairmont Hotel (2401 M St NW) during breakfast between 7:00 and 8:00am on either Wednesday, April 5 or Thursday, April 6, or during our Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 6 between 8 am and noon.
You can expect a strong turnout of CEOs who are informed, politically diverse and actively engaged in policy development. Your staff may contact Jane Alonso at 202-747-0741 or ialonso@nafoalliance.orQ for more details. You may also contact me directly at 202-747-0739 or dtenny@nafoalliance.org. We hope you will be able to join us in April.
Warm Regards,
Dave Tenny President and CEO National Alliance of Forest Owners
