8enC through the regular cycle of an automatic washer, "Tide" and
"Chlorox" w e r ^ u s e ^ i t ^ h e wash w a t e r a n a 4 oz. of the proposed fabric softener were added to the final rinse water,
thus providing a concentration four times that recommended for ordinary use.
Procedurer One-inch squares of the treated and control fabrics were placed on the arms of 79 men and on the arms or legs of 125 women and held in close contact with the skin for six days. Following a two-week rest period, patches of the material were again applied and removed 48 hours later. The skin under the patches was examined two and six days after the Initial application and two days after the final application.
Results: Reactions were not observed at any time.
