Halphen PLANT NOISE INFO Introduction: Noise levels were measured at numerous locations within the Solvents plant. Procedure: Measurements were taken with a B & K (Bruel and Kjaer) Sound-Level Meter Type 2205 which gives instaneous readings in dBA (decibel A-Scale) The instrument was calibrated immediately before use in the survey and the calibration re-checked upon completion of the survey in order to insure proper functioning and accurate readings. Results: The attached map contains all readings taken and the approximate location in the plant. Most readings were within the OSHA required limit of 90 dB. Those exceeding the limit are circled for emphasis and are due, except in the case of the compressors, mainly to the presence of steam leaks in the area. L. R.
