The one that particularly concerns us Is that of demolition and renovation of buildings or structures. The provisions apply only to demolition or renovation where more than 80 meters (262 feet) of pipe covered or coated with asbestos material are stripped or removed, or more than 15 square meters (161 square feet) of asbestos material used to cover or coat any duct, boiler, tank, reactor, turbine, furnace or structural member are stripped or removed. The operator of a demclltlon operation Is exempt from the provisions of the asbestos standard provided the amount of asbestos material In the building Is less than 80 meters used on pipes and less than 15 square meters used on any duct, boiler, tank, reactor, turbine, furnace or structural member.
