Herzog \ In your letter of November 26th to Mr. Harne;* you point out that at a cost of 11,7^ per pound this material could not be economically used in Endurance unless you replaced all the 18-M leaded zinc with it. You noted that in recent formulations we had dropped the lead content in Endurance paint by using the 18-M leaded zinc in stead of the previous blend of leaded zinc and lead, l'loaoe note that wo did not reduce the cost of the Endurance formic, by merely dropping the load content. Active lead content was kept the same; all that t*e reduced was the inactive lead. This is all written up in the AugiBt 1961 Product Development Report, and I would suggest that you review this disoussion before you consider reformulation involving the imported 30$ loaded zino.
