Re: Continued Removal of Asbestos Containing Flooring in Met Lab.
Based on the analysis of air samples.taken on 7/17/87 during removal of asbesios containing inlay flooring from the Lab stockroom it will be necessary to assign one employee to full time use of the amended water, garden type, sprayer on future removal of the Wet Lab flooring.
This employee must continually wet the affected area(s) during the removal and clean up of material. The following sample analysis are the basis for this:

age 2 I believe that by using a full time person with the sprayer, to continu ously wet the work area we can maintain the airborne asbestos levels well below the OSHA action level of 0.1 fibers per cc. Naturally, area and personal samples must continue until the job is completed and employees removing the asbestos flooring must have the required asbestos training. Also a Log entry must be made on this work as is the case with all asbestos activities.
