Mr. Virginijus Sinkevicius European Commissioner for Environment, Ocean, and Fisheries European Commission Rue de la Loi 200 B-1049 Brussels
Subject: Invitation to join the Corporate Leaders Network
Brussels, 21. May 2021
Dear EU-Commissioner Sinkevicius,
In view of Europe's focus on determination to bring about a real green transition and your crucial leadership in ecological change to safeguard nature and biodiversity we are writing to you to invite you to join us as a speaker to the Corporate Leaders Network.
The Corporate Leaders Network is a closed-door event series that brings together a group of key corporate and other leaders representing different industries and geographies, and promotes dialogue between policymakers, industry, and academia. The group assembles quarterly, to share candid views on a chosen topic and engage in a debate with a guest, under Chatham House Rules. Previous guests include then EP Vice-President Heidi Hautala, then EU-Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources Gnther Oettinger, Council Secretary-General Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, and Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to the EU, Michael Clauss.
The CLN network is an opportunity to leverage important messages and engage with key stakeholders and audiences at a crucial moment in time, as the green regulatory agenda picks up pace in Europe. Berbalk Communications supports Microsoft CLN in thematic and organisational matters and helps to engage with their members during and beyond the events.
I would thus be delighted if you could join us to share your views on the ambitious targets of the Zero Pollution Action Plan and the circular economy. We would also highly appreciate the opportunity to discuss the role and responsibility of the industry on how to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Making circular economy a mainstream will create business and job opportunities driving innovation and digitalization, no doubt. Understanding more about the decisive actions, financing plans and legal frameworks to turn ideas into sustainable products would be of great interest to our CLN members.
We are happy to adapt the timing of the webinar to your busy agenda. Normally, however, we always meet for a virtual breakfast between 8-9am.
Yours sincerely,
Berbalk Communications
