In reply to' your letter of May 17, 1977, although it is doubtful that saturated asbestos felt or 80 lb. asbestos cap sheet wadLd generate any fiber^dust when being applied, we recommend that" the warning label attached to your letter be used for both the felt and cap sheet.
This recommendation may appear to be a case of "over kill". However, in view of the fact that we are named as defendants in over 100 lawsuits involving liquid products, it is our opinion that the recommendation for the use of labels on the felt and cap sheet are justifiable since the exposure with the liquid products is not greater than with the roofing products.
In regard to the label itself, the vord "believes" on the fourth line of the warning statement should be d e M e d and replaced by the words "has stated".
