Hello:
Today is Tuesday, July 11, 2017. There are NO PHOTOS with this email. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I found out that there was another raccoon/possum attack AFTER Email 19 below. The attack must have taken place on the evening of Sunday, July 9th, at best (I went to 1 Home Depot store on Saturday, July 8th and 2 Home Depot stores on Sunday, July 9th to take care of some Ivy plant purchases for the goldfish that are indoors.)
This morning, I just saw that the number of goldfish in the pond have decreased since Saturday, July 8th. I found 1-goldfish this morning that had passed away--It was lying on the side of the outdoor pond. The lily pad also looked liked it had been damaged a bit further. Please note that my mother is not at home while I am preparing this email report you are reviewing/Email 20.
My mother DID NOT let me know about this and had been slow to tell me about things that happen with the goldfish at the pond. She had been slow about letting me know about the incident in Email 19 below.
Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA

I am very angry about this. She has told me not to feed the goldfish and complained about me doing so (during the Winter and now Spring/Summer months). I DO NOT understand why I would not feed them/stop feeding them and have continued to help. This would not be good for security--if I were to stop feeding the goldfish.
I do contribute/I feel that she does not give the goldfish correct care and concern at times (They are not just her goldfish--I did originally contribute to their purchase).
NOTE: The raccoon/possum just go into the outdoor pond like it is some-type of refrigerator or pantry-- They seem to catch the goldfish well, at best. I apologize. I am very concerned about safety. I WILL HAVE TO STOP speaking with my mother/This has caused a great deal of resentment and a communications problem.
Thank you. Kanika Sago

Hello and Greetings:
Today is Friday, July 7, 2017. There are 4 photos with this email.
There was another raccoon/possum attack earlier this week. The lily pad, which is protection for the goldfish at times, was damaged--It is not as full as it had grown in the last few months. The attack was done during the late evening (Saturday, July 1, 2017/Sunday, July 2, 2017, at best).
The goldfish are in better spirits. There were no goldfish lost. They are doing well. I am still concerned and have been feeding them (the same foods listed in these email reports).
I am very sad about this recent attack. Please look at these photos and review the damage to the lily pad.
NOTE: These photos were taken yesterday evening, Thursday, July 6, 2017. Please note that it rained early this morning, Friday, July 7th. The lily pad was also not as full after the rain storm (it decreased a bit even after the storm this morning).
Thank you. Kanika Sago

I am VERY, VERY concerned when I leave the house that neighbors and other visitors will approach my mother-Mattie to ask her to give the goldfish in the outdoor pond away. They may approach her to ask her if they can purchase them or is she reviewing giving them away.
Again, I would like to keep the goldfish in the outdoor pond and put them in an indoor fish tank (I know this is a big responsibility). My mother has a VERY bad habit of telling people/conserving that she will give them goldfish. I would like her to stop doing this immediately.
I do not feel safe about this and I get angry about this. I do not trust certain neighbors and certain visitors. Some of the neighbors and visitors are much too curious.
My mother will be doing work in the yard today and I will be doing some volunteer work with the Glass Slipper Project for most of the day.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I have been invited to attend/reminded about my family reunion in Atlanta, GA in August 2017. It will be held the first week in of August. I started reviewing care for the goldfish--There is no person that I trust to feed the goldfish while we both are away (both sets of goldfish indoors and in the outdoor pond). The dog-Nia usually goes to a doggy daycare when we go out-of-town for events.
I may not attend the family reunion because there are no accommodations for the goldfish to be fed and looked after while we are away (I am the person who helps/handles this/I do purchase food for both). This is a BIG PROBLEM. I am not looking to give away any goldfish/DO NOT feel that they should be given away to solve this problem--This is not a solution. Again, I would like to keep the goldfish.
Maybe my mother forgot that care has to be handled for the goldfish also in cases like this (when people travel). I have not really talked to my mother about this because I am bothered about it. I will be speaking with her about it soon.
Thank you. Kanika Sago
Hello/Greetings:
Please review the 3 photos with this email. This email is confidential.
Please note that I took these photos on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Mattie (my mother) took the remaining plastic off of the outdoor pond and did some cleaning of the water in the pond, and some landscape work. The weather was 75 degrees on Saturday, April 15th. The waterfall was on in the pond. The goldfish seemed in good spirits. The lilypad is smaller at this time and needs to grow back because of the raccoon attack last Summer (2016).
When I took these photos Kimberly Nance was a visitor (Please review the emails below). She visited with my mother-Mattie Sago for about 2 hours on Saturday, April 15th.
I made phone calls to the following because of her visit:

- Chicago Police Department - Office of the President-Brown University (I left a message on their voicemail service)
I do not like Ms. Nance's visits. I know that people on the block may feel concerned about her visits.
The Chicago Police Department was VERY HELPFUL. I am grateful that they took my call seriously.

Good Evening:
There are NO PHOTOS with this email. This email is confidential.
Today is Sunday, April 9, 2017. Please note that Kimberly Nance, mentioned in Email 15 (below), was a visitor to Mattie Sago at the property at 6622 S. Maryland Ave. in Chicago. Mattie was showing her plants that she had planted in the garden and the goldfish/outdoor pond. This woman is connected to too many things in the neighborhood.
She had no business visiting and I made it necessary to go in the yard to see who my mother was speaking with--I did speak to Ms. Nance just to let her know that someone was at home with my mother (she may not be used to seeing me or anyone else). My mother is welcomed to have contact with people on the block--it is a fair, neighborly policy. I just really have a difficult time with Ms. Nance.
She is married to a man named Oliver Eddington. I have had no problems with Mr. Eddington, but now have concerns with him.
I do not like how Ms. Nance views other people's property or her visits (she has been inside the house in the past and should not have been).
It was also not a good time to visit the outdoor pond--my mother had just fed the goldfish (every goldfish was present and seen). My mother was also working in the yard with bags of mulch and the dogMasteef/Labrador Retriever named Nia was present also.
Ms. Nance is too observant. Some minor, preventative repairs to the garage needed to be made also. The lawn care people have returned for the warmer season and have been coming out since late March.
My mother-Mattie needed more bags of mulch and Ms. Nance kept her from running an important last minute errand to get the bags of mulch that were needed.
I had returned the car and had just arrived home from church before the woman--Ms. Nance came to visit (I believe she also gave my mother a gift or something for her yard when she came to visit).
I apologize. I do have many concerns about the overall nature of any visits by Ms. Nance. I am normally not very happy after she stops by.

Hello and Greetings:
Please note the 2 recent photos with this email. They were taken earlier on Monday, April 3, 2017. I apologize for the quality. There are repairs that need to be made also.
It was rainy in Chicago. Some of the plastic had to be placed back on the pond for certain environment and safety purposes. There are still 2 heaters on in the outdoor pond.
The goldfish were fed earlier on Sunday, April 2nd. They ate as best as they were able to.
NOTE: These goldfish SHOULD NOT BE given to a Kimberly Nance or anyone else that my mother may have mentioned to that she was giving them away. My mother still speaks with Ms. Nance. I am concerned.
The goldfish ARE NOT for sale or any adoption/give-away. They are goldfish of multi-colors. I am hoping myself to provide them with a safer indoor home in the months coming up.
Kimberly Nance also lives on the 6600 Block of South Maryland Ave.--her son's girlfriend graduated from Brown University and DePaul University. Kimberly Nance is part of a group of new owners that took Greenline Development into litigation/'threat of lawsuit' over parking spaces/designated parking spaces for tenants that purchased new condominiums developed by Greenline Development/Benj amin Van Home. This was in approximately 2007--it lasted for about 8 to 12 months. The group settled the matter and chose not to sue Mr. Van Horne.
We had never had any legal matters of this format on this block. This was not good protocol. Mr. Van Horne had been dependable. There were many other residents on the block that did not know this was going on.
I had just met with Rich Moskal from the City of Chicago-DCASE/Chicago Film Office during that time and felt that what this group of new owners did may have impacted my meeting, hearing from Mr. Moskal again/on a regular basis after the interview, being called for newer job interviews and getting regular employment.

Good Evening:
Today is Sunday, March 26, 2017. I apologize for any delay.
Please note that it has been warmer and a little rainy in Chicago for the past 3-4 days. Temperatures were 77 degrees at the highest and 39 degrees-the lowest. Today the high was about 56 degrees. The goldfish were fed a little today and a bit yesterday. They seemed to respond okay. I roughly need to do a count of
Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA

how many goldfish are in the pond, but I would state it is about 40 to 45 at this time--They look in good spirits. The 2 heaters are still on and the plastic has been pulled back off the water for now.
For people who are interested in getting goldfish similar to the goldfish in the outdoor pond, a Pet Smart store in your city has a good stock and a healthy selection, at best. They do not cost that much.
NOTE-1: The goldfish in the indoor fish tank in the house also like the Aqueon brand 'Goldfish Granules' (just like the goldfish in the outdoor pond--as described in Email 13 below).
Please note that Pet Smart goldfish of different colors adapt well with other goldfish raised in an outdoor pond and later brought to an indoor fish tank environment. So far, I currently have a larger goldfish with a smaller goldfish. I purchased the smaller goldfish from Pet Smart in August 2016. 'September'-the goldfish's name has been growing an adapting well with the much larger goldfish named-'August.' I brought 'August' from an outdoor pond to the indoor fish tank about 4 years ago.
NOTE-2: The goldfish in the outdoor pond seem to strongly favor plant life such as watermelon vine/leaf, non-poison ivy leaf plant, and lily pad/leaf. Please be careful keeping too much watermelon vine/leaf near an outdoor pond environment--it grows wilder/more vine-like and may interfere and grow longer into the water/pond environment. The 2 goldfish that I have in the indoor fish tank still seem to strongly favor non-poison ivy leaf plant from Flome Depot.

Today is Thursday, March 16, 2017. I apologize for the additional email--There are NO PEIOTOS with this email at this time.
Please note that there has been severe weather and there have been colder temperatures in Chicago since the last email (Email 12). I had to do some State of Illinois business and walk to a State Office today. It was about 35-42 degrees and a bit nicer.
I have been feeding the goldfish a brand of fish food by Aqueon. It is called Goldfish Granules. The food is similar to the pellets. They are slow-sinking granules. The granules are good for goldfish and other pond fish.
I have been feeding them this for the past week or so. They seem to 'really like it.' I fed them this food today. It is recognizable to them and I saw some goldfish eating.
I have been doing the best that I can with the plastic covering on the pond and working with what I have. I am trying to prevent a lot of layering problems. There are 2 heaters working in the pond at this time.
I do not know exactly how many goldfish there are. I apologize. Those that I have seen appear to be in okay condition.

Good Evening:
Today is Saturday, February 25, 2017 (This email is for Saturday, February 25, 2017). There are 3 photos with this email again.
Earlier today, I retrieved 1 goldfish from the pond that had passed away. There are about 14 goldfish passed away at this time.
Please be advised that these goldfish WERE NOT trapped under any layers of plastic. They passed away in the pond water.
Please also note that the lily pad for the pond is growing back again. This was a helpful environment during the warmer months.
Again, the cold weather and harsh elements played a factor with there vitality. The goldfish have tropical attributes and do well in an indoor fish tank and can also do well outdoors during warmer months (in a warmer, more controlled climate).
The pond has been totally covered with plastic at this time and the other goldfish were fed earlier. This was done earlier this afternoon. There is 1-one heater running in the pond.
Please note that I DO NOT want to give the goldfish to anyone for adoption (I do not want to negotiate with anyone about this). I would like to consider the plan that I had in previous emails below--to take care of them myself and place them in an indoor fish tank at an office or newer housing (when finances permit).

I apologize for the delay. There are 3 photos with this email. The newest photo was taken for Thursday, February 23, 2017.
There have been 13 goldfish that passed away. I was able to retrieve most of them from the pond earlier on Thursday, February 23rd.
The goldfish that passed away were mostly orange and white and plain white. I was very sad about this--Weather and the harsh outdoor environment did play a factor in their vitality. I have spent as much time as I could with them feeding them for the past few weeks. They seemed to respond well to being fed, but the cold weather did play a factor.

The other goldfish were fed earlier on Thursday, February 23rd. Again, they seemed to respond well to being fed.
Newer plastic was put down during the late evening for Thursday, February 23rd. The newer plastic was put down because of the weather--rain, some colder temperatures and some snow that was stated for the next few days in the weather forecast. I was not able to cover the whole pond with newer plastic, but did the best that I could to cover it for better protection.
Thank you. Kanika Sago
Good Evening:
I apologize for the inconvenience. Today is Monday, February 6, 2017 (Tuesday, February 7th).
There are 2 photos with this email--The were taken at the end of January 2017. They will help to understand the basic habitat of the outdoor pond.
Since the last email--Email 9 ,1have been feeding the goldfish as best as I can--They seem to enjoy the food, at best. It has been a challenge and they get a bit 'forlorn,' but are okay for the most part. I have only seen 1 goldfish that has passed away to date. The weather understandably plays a factor. The current weather in Chicago at this time is 37-44 degrees.
I have been also dealing with the plastic overlay on the pond. Earlier today-Monday, I hope that was able to help 3 goldfish get to safety that got a bit trapped under the second layer of the plastic because of the water layers. The plastic HAS TO BE straightened often to prevent this. My mother wanted to use this method. I do not agree with the type of covering, but have to include it in my daily/weekly chores, like on a farm. Please note that this IS NOT a chore/task for 'amateur' pet owners or children.
The 3 goldfish seemed to get back to the pond with the rest of the goldfish (there were 2 orange goldfish and 1 white goldfish).
Thank you. Kanika Sago

Since the last email below, the goldfish were actually fed. It was very much a challenge and difficult because I was out there with them in the freezing temperatures. I urgently felt that they should be fed--I fed them about 4 times since the email below.
I used the API-Brand Goldfish Pellet Food, and also mixed it a bit with Wardley-Brand Goldfish Flake Food. I use Wardley-Brand for the goldfish in the indoor fish tank also and it is a good protein. They are still younger. It works good for older goldfish too.
I saw about 3 goldfish in the outdoor pond today. They appeared to be okay, for the most part. I am still concerned.
The 2 pond heaters helped some, but I am still concerned.

I apologize for the inconvenience. My best recommendation for the weather conditions at this time would be to:
- Have an outdoor tent installed over the pond that would atleast help with warmth. The outdoor tent used could be similar to outdoor tents used for special events. The tents usually can be built with a door. At this time, it may be too cold to retrieve the goldfish from the pond. It is a bit colder. Please note that the pond is by the garage.
Again, these type of goldfish should not be left outdoors year-around.
I feel that they are delicate. My mother may have made an error--they should take some of the research off the World Wide Web that supports that it is okay to leave animals like this outdoors in a colder climate.
I apologize.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that I paid for these goldfish about 2 years ago and they had children. These goldfish technically DO NOT belong to my mother. She keeps telling people they are HER goldfish.
I paid for the newer goldfish about 2 years ago because she really wanted to put the older goldfish from the indoor fish tank back outdoors AGAIN for seasonal decor. I felt that this was not appropriate or good for the older goldfish to be exposed like that again. We have had goldfish indoors and outdoors for about 4 years.
This is a bit of a public and neighborhood issue and a debate with my mother at times. I apologize if it has offended people and really hope to improve it soon.

Today is Sunday, December 11, 2016. I am sending this email from the Chicago Public LibraryAvalon Library (8148 S. Stony Island Ave.).
Please note that it snowed in Chicago. I checked on the goldfish in the outdoor pond earlier this afternoon. This is a concern--I am being told by my mother-Mattie not to feed them, and in some cases check on them. I AM NOT disturbing their habitat--this is a concern. I DID FEED THEM TODAY. I fed them API-Brand Goldfish Pellets. The pellets sink to the bottom of the pond/fishtank and do not stay at the top. The goldfish do not have to come to the top for their food (and risk freezing). The food sinks to the bottom--it works a bit well when you have a lily pad.
How would they survive in a colder climate if there IS NO greenery/plant life and the advisement is to NOT FEED THEM? What would they exist off of? I think that it IS BEST to feed them. I am looking at this a lot some days--I do not see much for them to exist from in a colder climate. This is why I feed them--this may be the best food for them--the pellets.
I have fed them this type food a bit during the summer months also. I feed the goldfish in the indoor fishtank this food also.
I had to work to free a few trapped goldfish from the heavier plastic on the pond yesterdaySaturday, December 10th. Hopefully, they are doing a bit better--they were trapped a bit in the plastic and their was very little water for them. I guess I came just in time.
It is difficult to give a good estimated number of goldfish that are in the pond right now--they are still around in the colder weather and do come to the top for natural habitat. They received the food okay that I fed them earlier before I came to the library--I did not even have that much for them and have to purchase more.
Please review the weblink below about the API-Brand Goldfish Pellet food:

I fed the goldfish a little something yesterday on Thursday evening--I also had been feeding them last week and some of this week also. I felt they needed their food.
I was told by my mother that it WAS NOT best to feed them because of the colder weather and that they could sustain without eating during the Winter months.
I am very concerned about the research data that she is getting to support the claims that it IS NOT a problem to keep the goldfish in a colder, outdoor climate (not a good hypothesis for the goldfish).
Again, the goldfish would do better in an indoor fish tank. I saw the goldfish some today and thank goodness they were doing in 'good spirits' despite the colder weather. Again, they have 2 heaters in the pond.

Javier was concerned because the goldfish are outdoors and it was getting cold. I told Javier that I was equally VERY concerned as he was and wanted them in an indoor fish tank also.
Javier stated that he has a large tank at his home and can keep them for the Winter and will give them back in the Spring. Javier lives in Indiana.
