Thompson A meeting was held in Burlington on May 24, 1977 to discuss a program to heat latex in order to minimize the productivity impact of reaching the 2,000 ppm EPA regulation on stripped latex. Attending the meeting were the following: P. Scarito (Part Time) A. Siegel R. Cole J. Poarch L. Schappell P. Scheiner The first phase of the program will be direct steam injection into a stripper. Initial work will be performed on 1755 latex and will require a minimum of two runs. The first test will include one half hour of steaming immediately after recovery has been completed. An LOP describing the details of the tests will be prepared prior to initial steaming. The attached sketch, SK-1, indicates the hookup that will be employed. The second phase of the test program will be a latex pumparound loop, using the in-line mixer, with steam injection into the recirculation line. This method will be utilized in the event that the first phase is unsuccessful. Nevertheless, detailed engineering necessary for in stallation of this second phase will proceed immediately.
