Based on the Dow report, I have submitted a recommendation to the Threshold Limits Committee of the A.C.G.I.H. that the limit for vinyl chloride be reduced from 500 to 50 ppm. If your work would indicate that such a reduc tion is not in order, I would greatly appreciate your letting me know before any action is taken. Sofaras I know, none of the other members of the committee have any first hand experience with this material, and have to base our action on published reports and communications from others who are familiar with it. We will be interested in hearing your paper at the Industrial Hygiene Conference, but would not ordinarily post pone our action in the threshold limit unless your observations indicated that such action was inadvisable.
