A.LS.E. has commissioned a study to assess the economic impacts that the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (`CSS') would have on the detergents industry. This study is ongoing and is planned to be finalised by the end of February. It will provide important economic figures and cost estimates that would be useful within the context of several ongoing initiatives. Given the stringent timelines for several actions under the CSS, A.LS.E. would like to understand whether the findings of their study (when finalised) could still be provided as stakeholder feedback within the context of these actions. GROW F2 informed A.LS.E. of the timelines and state of play of several initiatives that would be of interest to them such as the Revision of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (`CLP'), the Revision of the Detergents Regulation and the Transitional Pathway for chemicals. GROW F2 highlighted that among these initiatives, the Revision of the CLP Regulation is the most pressing one with the submission of the Impact Assessment to the Regulatory Scrutiny Board scheduled for 20 March and the meeting before the Board planned for mid-April 2022. GROW F2, therefore, suggested that A.LS.E. shares the findings of their study as soon as possible after it has been finalised. Finally, GROW F2 informed A.LS.E. of the kick-off meeting on the transitional pathway for chemicals that will be held on 16 February and invited them to participate in it and express their views.
