He had spoken with H. B. Rhodes earlier in the week and we had sent him the standard RG-600 literature. Marvin wanted to know if we could supply G.E. with between 150,000 and 300,000 pounds of RG-600 during 1976. I assured him that we could and he noted that there is probably that much potential and they did not want to look at our material unless we could supply. He was obviously aware that we are currently in a pilot plant operation status. Basically, they are interested in reinforcing polypropylene with-v302S RG-600. At this time they are leaning towards the idea of having the material made up by a compounder and doing the forming themselves. I mentioned that one compounder I knew of was A. Schulman, Inc., Akron, Ohio. He was familiar with them and asked for a list of others that would be willing to compound with RG-600. No conversation would be complete these days without a discussion of health hazards. I mentioned that if all G.E. was going to do was form the sheet, they certainly had no handling problems, since the only dust generation I could see would be at the compounders. Marvin asked jf we would be willing to help him out by discussing the handling of this material with his management. I pledged our full support. Seemingly satisfied by our information, Marvin asked for 30 pounds to run a lab-size trial. He would like a call from our RG-600 expert to discuss their plans in a little more detail.
