Patsy, John DePasquale, our in house attorney who is liaison with the BHRC, does not have any objection to ChevronTexaco being listed as a sponsor of any of the research that we publish. His position is that all member companies are linked to the Consortium and the SHS so there is no need to try to obfuscate. Patrick

An action for each of the companies was to ask their legal department about printing the actual company names or just "Benzene Health Research Consortium." If you will respond to me, I will coordinate the responses and get back to you on the outcome.

Patsy,
We would opt for a subtle PBS-type phrase at the end of any publications or in a footnote such as "sponsored by BP, ChevronTexaco, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, and Shell, with additional funding from Marathon." Same for the websites. While we want this study to be regarded as a joint U of CO and Fudan U study, we also want to be up front and transparent about who is sponsoring it.
