Un pigment selon la revendication 2, dans lequel 10 les particules de Ti02 portent des revetements comprenant 80 a 90 pour cent en poids de Si02 et 2 a 20 pour cent en poids de B2 03 , par rapport au poids de revetement. 4. Un pigment selon la revendication 3, dans lequel les particules de Ti02 portent des revdtements de 15 Si02/B2 03 constituant 2 a 10 % du poids total du pigment. 5. Un pigment selon la revendication 4, dans lequel les particules de Ti02 portent des revetements de SiOj/B2 03 constituant 4 & 8 % du poids total du pigment. 6. Un pigment selon 11une quelconque des 20 revendications prdcedentes, dans lequel les particules de Ti02 portent des revetements extSrieurs d'alumine constituant 0,5 d 5 % du poids total des particules. 7. Un pigment selon la revendication 6, dans lequel les particules de Ti02 portent des revetements exterieurs 25 d'alumine constituant 1 d 4 % du poids total des particules. 8. Un procede pour prdparer des particules de Ti02 portant des revetements de silice modifide par de 1'anhydride borique, consistant d : 30 (a) former une suspension aqueuse de Ti02 du type rutile a une temperature d'environ 65 a environ 90 "C ; (b) ajuster le pH de la suspension dans l'intervalle de 7 a 10,5 ; 35 (c) ajouter une quantite prdddterminde d'une solution comprenant Na2 Si03 et B2 03 , dans des N 30923.03 DUP050449373 2 conditions qui maintiennent en solution les ions silicate et d'anhydride borique ; (d) abaisser progressivement le pH de la suspension par addition d'acide jusqu'& atteindre environ 5 7,5 6. 8,5, en deposant ainsi un revetement de silice et d'anhydride borique ; et (e) faire murir le pigment revdtu resultant & une temperature d'environ 65 C e environ 90 C pendant une periode d'au moins 15 minutes. 10 9. Un procede selon la revendication 8, dans lequel on ajoute suffisamment de Na2Si03 et de B2 03 dans 1'etape (c) pour former un revetement comprenant 60 li 98 pour cent en poids de Si02 et 0,5 a 30 pour cent en poids de B2 03 , par rapport au poids de revetement. 15 10. Un procede selon la revendication 9, dans lequel on ajoute suffisamment de Na2Si03 et de B203 dans 1'etape (c) pour former un revetement comprenant 80 d 90 pour cent en poids de Si02 et 2 & 20 pour cent en poids de B2 03 , par rapport au poids de revetement. 20 11. Un procede selon la revendication 10, dans lequel on ajoute suffisamment de Na2Si03 et de B2Oa dans 1'etape (c) pour former un revetement de Si02/B2 03 constituent 0,5 & 10 % du poids total du pigment. 12. Un procede selon la revendication 11, dans lequel 25 on ajoute suffisamment de Na2Si03 et de B203 dans 1'etape (c) pour former un revetement de Si02/B203 constituant 4 a 8 % du poids total du pigment. 13. Un procede selon 1'une quelconque des revendications 8 a 12, comprenant 1*etape supplementaire 30 suivante : (f) ajouter suffisamment de NaA102 a la suspension, a une temperature d'environ 50 a 90C, pour obtenir une concentration d'environ 2 & 8 % par rapport au poids du Ti02 , tout en ajoutant un 35 acide mineral de fagon a maintenir le pH de la suspension entre 6 et 9. Pigment, welches Rutil-Ti02-Teilchen enthalt, die Si02 und B2O3 enthaltende Beschichtungen 15 aufweisen. 2. Pigment nach Anspruch 1, worin die Ti02-Teilchen Beschichtungen aufweisen, die 60-98 Gew.-% Si02 und 0,5 bis 30 Gew.-% B2O3, bezogen auf das Be- 20 schichtungsgewicht, enthalten. 3. Pigment nach Anspruch 2, worin die Ti02-Teilchen Beschichtungen aufweisen, die 80-90 Gew.-% Si02 und 2-20 Gew.-% B2O3, bezogen auf das Beschich- 25 tungsgewicht, enthalten. 4. Pigment nach Anspruch 3, worin die Ti02~Teilchen Si02/B203-Beschichtungen aufweisen, die 2-10 % vom gesamten Pigmentgewicht ausmachen. 30 5. Pigment nach Anspruch 4, worin die Ti02-Teilchen Si02/B203-Beschichtungen aufweisen, die 4-8 % vom gesamten Pigmentgewicht ausmachen. 35 6. Pigment nach einem der vorstehenden Anspruche, worin die Ti02-Teilchen Supere Beschichtungen aus Aluminiumoxid aufweisen, die 0,5-5 % vom Gesamtgewicht der Teilchen ausmachen. DUP050449376 2 7. Pigment nach Anspruch 6, worin die Ti02-Teilchen aupere Beschichtungen aus Aluminiumoxid aufweisen, die 1-4 % voxn Gesamtgewicht der Teilchen ausmachen. 5 8. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Ti02-Teilchen mit Beschichtungen aus Boroxid-modifiziertem Siliziumdioxid durch (a) Bilden einer wSssrigen Aufschiammung von 10 Rutil-Ti02 bei einer Temperatur von etwa 65 bis etwa 90 C; (b) Einstellen des pH-Werts der Aufsch1ammung im Bereich von 7-10,5; (c) Zugeben einer vorbestimmten Menge einer 15 Na2Si03 und B203 enthaltenden L6sung unter Bedingungen, die Silikat- und Borationen in der Losung halten; (d) allmahliches Senken des pH-Werts der Aufschlammung auf etwa 7,5-8,5 durch Zugabe 20 von SMure, wodurch eine Beschichtung aus Siliziumdioxid und Boroxid niedergeschlagen wird; und (e) HSrten des resultierenden, beschichteten Pigments bei einer Temperatur von etwa 65C 25 bis etwa 90C iiber einen Zeitraum von wenigstens 15 Minuten. 9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 8, worin in Schritt (c) ausreichend Na2Si03 und B203 zugesetzt werden, 30 urn eine Beschichtung mit 60-98 Gew.-% Si02 und 0,5-30 Gew.-% B203, bezogen auf das Beschichtungsgewicht, zu ergeben. 10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, worin in Schritt (c) 35 ausreichend Na2Si03 und B203 zugesetzt werden, um eine Beschichtung mit 80-90 Gew.-% Si02 und DUP050449377 3 2-20 Gew.-% B203, bezogen auf das Beschichtungsgewicht, zu ergeben. 11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, worin in Schritt 5 (c) ausreichend Na2Si03 und B2O3 zugesetzt werden, um eine Si02/B203-Beschichtung zu er geben, die 0,5-10 % vom gesamten Pigmentgewicht ausraaeht. 10 12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, worin in Schritt (a) ausreichend Na2Si03 und B203 zugesetzt werden, um eine Si02/B203-Beschichtung zu er geben, die 4-8 % vom gesamten Pigmentgewicht ausmacht. 15 13. Verfahren nach einem der AnsprUche 8 bis 12, welches den folgenden zusatzlichen Schritt umfa(3t (f) Zugabe von ausreichend NaA102 zur Auf- 20 schlammung bei einer Temperatur von etwa 50 bis 90 C, um eine Konzentration von etwa 2-8 % vom Ti02-Gewicht bereitzustellen, wobei Mineralsaure hinzugefOgt wird, um den pH-Wert der Aufschlcimmung bei 6-9 25 zu halten. 14. Oberzugszusammensetzung, welche ein Pigment mit einer verdichteten Si02/B203-Beschichtung gemap einem der AnsprUche 1 bis 7, ein filmbil- 30 dendes Material und einen fltissigen Trager umfapt.
