The Committee approved the recommendation of the Manager
of the Paint Division for the termination of operations of the
EN-4559 (EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE - APRIL 27, 1970) Company's Paint Plant at San Francisco, California. The Committee approved a Memorandum-of-Understanding, dated April 20, 1970, setting forth the essential bases of a proposed agreement to be entered into among the following companies: The Steel Company of Canada, Limited; Lurgi-Gesellschaft fur Chemie und Huttenwesen m.b.H., or Metallgesllschaft A.G.; Republic Steel Corporation; National Lead Company and Hamersley Iron Pty. Limited, covering the construction and operation of facilities for the production of metallized materials in an undertaking known as the HImet Project. Upon motion, the meeting then adjourned.
