Keim Subject Administrative Controls for strip grinders Due to the recent increase in asbestos counts on the 6-13 and 6-33 grinders feel that we have to apply administrative controls to both grinders.This means that no one operator can operate either machine for more than four hours oe, The principle involved in this procedure is that no one may have a oe 8 hour average of 2.0 fibers or over in one day If we work an operator for 4 hours on an operation which is in excess of 2.0 we must find him job on a operation which is less than 1.0 for the remainder of the 4 hour day We realize that his presents some problems but we cannot operate under the present conditions by law We will continue to monitor these stations and will advise you as soon as a change occurs in the condition In the meantime it might be helpful to have a talk with the operators and let them know the importance of the cleanup and clean out procedures and that if sloppy work habits continue they could be disqualified Effective Monday February 27th no operator will be able to run 6-13 or 6-33 for more than four hours in a 24 hour period If you have any questions please contact myself or Bob Francis VK CC Schuttenhe~...m Little D.
