One of these suggested that animals for cytogenetic study be taken from the T-III and control groups only, to conserve animals and improve statistics in the (at that time still negative) T-I group, in particular. The same factors apparently influenced the other two adverse bal lots. With IBT's August 16 report of tumors in the T-I rats, this consideration becomes substantially less important. The testimony of Dr. Selikoff at the Senate hearings alleging genetic damage by vinyl chloride emphasizes the need of industry for more valid data on this problem. With the clear majority of the total TTGVCR in support of Dow's request, MCA is on this date informing Dow of its approval, and is author izing the Industrial BIO-TEST Laboratories to make these rats available to Dow's researcher.
