Dear Bob:
Many thanks for your letter of December fifth and
enclosures, which arrived this morning in nice time to enable me to
get them cleared.
'
I note what you say in regard to the report on the lead manufacturing plants, and I shall make quite certain that this information is passed on to noone other than Cassells and Fossett.
I had a most delightful week-end at your home and enjoyed every moment of it. It was particularly nice seeing Lucille again after a gap of so many years.
I most sincerely hope that next time I come over I shall be able to bring Timmy with me, and also that conditions will have improved to the extent where it will be possible to spend a little more time doing the things one would like to do.
vdth all best wishes,

Dear D a y :
I am sending you herewith (l) a memorandum on the polarographic method of lead determination prepared by Mr. Cholak for Dodds, (2) a copy of a detailed report on the lead plants in the United States, which I promised you when you were here, and (p) a preliminary report on the toxicity and physiological effects of monomethyl an i l i n e .
With respect to the report on the lead manufacturing plants, I have appended a brief note to call your attention to the highly confidential character of this information within the organization. It will be apparent to you that it represents pretty plain speaking in spots and that the language here and there is such as could only be used within the f a m i l y . Accord ingly you will recognize that any leakage of this information could give rise to a very considerable amount of hard f e e l i n g .
It was certainly an occasion for great happiness on our part that you had a chance to visit with us, and I am only sorry that the circumstances were such that we could not see more of you,_Kowever, I am glad that you are able to get away promptly, for i am sure that limy will have missed you tremendously, and that you both will be anxious about each other until you are back together again. Do give her our love, and to you both our best wishes for a very happy holiday season.
Sincerely yours,
r.AK ef Enc.
