As the ranking minority member of the Committee, I was deeply concerned with shaping the provisions of the bill and you will be pleased to know that the legislative prohibition against lead-based paint generally has been restricted in the bill reported out by the Committee and now passed by the Senate to "all interior surfaces, porches and exterior surfaces to which children may be commonly exposed, of residential housing."
