Phelps - BB As outlined in Mr. Hellings' impact study concerning more stringent limits on exposure to inorganic lead* we concur with the recommendations contained in Section V. The major recommendations for the Willow Island plant are the installation, of equipment to satisfy the engineering proposal--as*outlined in Appendix XVII of Mr. Hellings' study and a continued emphasis and upgrading of employee work practices. A capital order for $64,000 is presently circulating for division approvals to provide the necessary funds to purchase and install the equipment as outlined in the engineering proposal. With early approvals it is estimated that all equipment could he. installed--by.earl^_. 1976. As discussed in the impact study, emphasis has been stressed on employee work practices. A slide presentation on proper work prac tices is presently being prepared. This program will be presented to Pigment Department supervisors and all employees working in the lead-bearing pigment areas in January 197fv by the plant Training Supervisor and the Department Superintendent.
