None. RECOMMENDATIONS DETAILED FINDINGS The company m s engaged in the manufacture of asbestos products and the dust collecting system was installed to remove the dust and fly arising from the carding and other operations peculiar to this type of industry. The dust-laden air is passed through a P a n g b o m unit, a Precipitron, and then water spray before being conditioned and recirculated. Since the company was desirous of ascertaining if the system was effective, atmosphere samples were taken at such places as would give an indication of the functioning of the system. From the accompanying table it can be seen that the dust concentration in the general atmosphere in the finishing room is muqfi lower than that in the atmosphere of the carding room. The percentage efficiency of the system can be estimated from the dust concentrations found in the main duct leading to the Fangbprn unit and the dust concentrations found at the end of the system (between the spray and fan).' This efficiency is approximately 99ji, which is very high and shows that such a system is extremely effective in removing dust of micro- soopio site. / In tho near future, a survey will be made of the entire plant to determine the dust concentrations in the atmosphere of tho working areas.
