| Sobject: COMMENTS ON GRADE M AmOSITE FIBERS
Date
March 31, 1970
Dear Guy:
* After examining the sample of Graoe "M" Amosite fibers, our people have
ARRIVED AT THE FOLLOWING CONCLUSIONS!
3 1. The sample is definitely NOT a reasonable substitute for Graoe 0-11
FIBER.
2. Not only is the sample dusty and full of trash, but it appears to CONTAIN MANY SHORT FIBER LENGTHS AND FAR TO FEW FIBERS OF 1-l/2"
TO 3n IN LENGTH.
3. Graoe "M" fibers are bluish-gray in color - not the whiter type THAT 0-11 IS.
4. Grade "M" fiber WOULD be a gooo substitute for scrap, but would
CERTAINLY PRESENT A SERIES OF PRODUCTION PROBLEMS IF USED IN THE DRY BATCH WITHOUT A SUFFICIENT QUANTITY OF GOOD D-11 GRADE TO BEEF UP THE GRIND AND LAP.
